Oakes Children’s Center is a mental health center for SED children, ages 4 to 18. The Center runs a Counseling Enriched Educational Program, outpatient groups for PDD clients, a public school-based mental health partnership, and a clinical training program. Administrative and clinical staff manage overall operations, coordinating a number of internal and external resources. Oakes is funded by CBHS, Bay Area school districts, foundation grants, and private donors. Attention to each of their regulatory requirements and policies is essential. Given the varied backgrounds and needs of Oakes’ clients, smooth and efficient communication is a top priority.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinical knowledge and experience with children and families

Ability to work cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team

Skills in supervising and teaching others

Excellent communication abilities

 

EDUCATION:

MD, plus licensure in the State of California

 

FTE:

This position is a part-time, contracted position, currently one day a week on Wednesdays

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:

The Psychiatric Consultant reports directly to the Clinical Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide initial psychiatric assessment of new clients.  (All assessments to include DSM 5 diagnosis)
  • Medication management of all Medi-Cal eligible clients in the CEEP program and Medi-Cal clients referred from the Outpatient and SOAR program
  • Meet and collaborate with treatment teams including clinical, education, and administrative staff and document any billable services occurring during those meetings
  • Provide training for staff as required 1-2 times per academic year
  • Provide all Agency and County Mental Health required Documentation in a timely fashion
  • Provide phone support for clients outside of office hours
  • Follow all San Francisco County psychiatric policies
  • Coordinate with relief coverage as needed
  • Maintain medical malpractice insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 each occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate limit.
